- Looks and feels natural
If you are missing a tooth, you know how much it can affect your daily life. Missing teeth can cause you to have difficulty eating and chewing properly and can alter your overall appearance. Luckily, dental technology has advanced, and your dentist is now able to offer a dental restoration that looks and functions like a natural tooth, dental implants.
What are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are essentially artificial tooth roots. The dental implant will be placed into your jawbone, like the roots of your existing teeth, and will bond to the bone. Your dentist will then be able to place a natural-looking dental crown over the dental implant, completing the restoration.
With the dental implant in place, you will be able to chew in a way that is nearly identical to how natural teeth function. Dental implants provide more stability and comfort than other forms of tooth replacement and can help prevent the bone loss that can occur naturally from missing teeth.
